GCW Writing Guide

Introduction to the Announce Team

Commentary is a vital part of every segment and match you will write. Creating well defined, consistent commentators is one of the biggest challenges in a fed. Very few feds have done this effectively, but with this guide you will have the information you need to get to know the characters.

Commentary Overview

The preceding sections gave you a good idea of how to use commentary in various situations on the show. The following pages will give you a clear idea of the characters and how to write them.

Overall, do your best to represent the characters as constituted in this guide. By creating real, consistent commentary you help each show feel fluid and alive.

Feel free to bump the Spanish or Scottish announcers, but never hurt the English announcers, as they're needed for the show!

The Spanish Commentators

The Spanish Announce Team also sits at ringside. They are Juan 'Dirty' Sanchez and Eduardo Romero Miranda Cardenal. Both have been with GCW since the start and both have a knack for miraculously avoiding serious injury when large flying objects destroy their table.

The Scottish Commentators

The Scottish Announce Team sits adjacent to the Spanish Announce Team. It's a bit crowded. The announcers are Donald MacTavish and Malcolm Wallace. They wear kilts and enjoy haggis during commerical breaks.
